Here are the latest details about the royal wedding day!

Music

Kate Middleton is leaving nothing to chance with her wedding music, since she has already paid a visit to hear the London Chamber Orchestra (LCO), which will be playing at the wedding .The LCO will be joined in the music department by the Westminster Abbey Choir, amongst other choirs which include a mix of children and professional adults. The Welsh Guards are expected to play and Prince Charles’s official harpist, Claire Jones, will play at events following the ceremony.

The bridal party outfits

Apart from Prince Harry as Best Man and Pippa Middleton as Maid of honour, the remainder of the wedding party is very young. Four bridesmaids and two page boys, whose ages range from three to ten have been selected. Expect to see cute and innocent outfits on the bridal party except for Harry and Pippa! William will be wearing his Royal Air Force uniform and blue order of the garter sash.

Transportation & Food and Beverage

Following the wedding, the couple will travel in the same horse-drawn Landau used by Charles and Diana to Buckingham Palace. There the Queen will be hosting a champagne breakfast for 600 guests for them.

Here’s a fun British fact- all meals immediately following a wedding ceremony are called wedding breakfasts despite the time of day. This is because breakfast is the first meal of the day and the meal immediately after the wedding will be the first meal the couple has as newlyweds.

Tradition dictates that the couple appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony with the rest of the royal family and pose for their official pictures. In the evening , there will be an intimate 300 person dinner followed by dancing. This is supposed to be the most low-key event and most guests are vying for an invite to this, as it should be the most fun and relaxed! The couple are apparently ensuring a day commencing with pomp and closing with partying!

The Gown

Kate may change into another outfit, possibly a Victoria (Posh) Beckham creation as Victoria has been asked by Kate to submit some evening wear from her latest collection, for consideration. Victoria has been known to favour sleek tailoring and elegant designs which is in keeping with the look Kate favours generally. If selected, Victoria will be there to see how her design looks first-hand, since both Posh and Becks have been invited to the wedding!

The Cake

Fiona Cairns who makes cakes for sale at Harrods and Selfridges has been hired to make the cakes. There will be not one but two cakes! Kate has used mood boards for inspiration and to demonstrate what she wants. This cake will reportedly have multiple tiers which feature a range of themes- flowers from the home nations i.e. an English rose, Scottish thistle, Welsh daffodil and Irish shamrock. The couple’s initials may also be featured on the cake.

What will be in it? Ingredients range from dried fruits like raisins and sultanas to walnuts, cherries, grated oranges and lemon, French brandy and free range eggs and flour. William has requested that a second cake be made from Mcvites chocolate biscuits, which were his favourite as a child.

Gifts

Guests have been asked to make a donation from a list of chosen charities. A list of charities was released which feature causes important to both Kate and William.
