Damian and Raquel

“It all began when Damian stopped his posse of friends while walking through the crowd at Panorama Semi-Finals, just to come across to introduce himself to me (he would later say I was giving him the eye!). He then introduced himself to me as “Ace” (as he is fondly known, since he is a member of the local music group called “3suns”) to which I responded “That’s the name your mother gave you?” It was at that moment he confidently told me “You’re going to be my wife one day!” From then it was history.
Every year since that day we have not missed a Panorama Semi-Final, now labelled and known as our “Panniversary” by our family and close friends. One of our dear friends even surprised us with a pan soloist during our reception!

Having simple tastes, we both wanted clean and crisp décor. Therefore, we opted for “all white” with colored lighting, which helped enhance the mood. There were hints of silver sparkle on the cake and of course, my pink bouquet and shoes.

Seeing that Damian’s passion is music, we both decided to name our tables after popular local musical influences (calypso, soca, chutney and pan) and placed them in CD cases to give it a more authentic feel ( this was one of our many do-it-yourself projects!)

It was a fun-filled day and we would do it again in a heartbeat!” – Raquel
