Wedding industry speaker and educator

 

Simone Sant-Ghuran is a wedding industry educator, entrepreneur and speaker.

She has 21 years’ experience in the wedding and event industry; and is the Founder of TrinidadWeddings.com and the TW Wed-Zine Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief.

In 2004, after seven years in the corporate world, she founded TrinidadWeddings.com, the first wedding planning website in Trinidad and Tobago, which has since grown into a well-recognized brand. She was also the Trinidad Guardian newspaper’s wedding columnist for eleven years.

Simone has a BSc. Double Major in Business Management and Sociology, a Post Graduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM, UK), a Digital Marketing Essentials certificate from the Communications, Advertising & Marketing (CAM) Foundation, UK, a Diploma in Fashion Journalism, with Distinction, from the College of Media and Publishing (UK), a PR Foundation qualification from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), a Fashion Styling Foundations Certificate from FIT, New York and is a Certified Wedding Planner (CWP).

She’s also a past Board Member of the Association for Female Executives of Trinidad & Tobago (AFETT).

Simone was a Finalist in the “Business category” for the “National Young Woman of The Year Award” in 2005. In 2013, Simone received a special Award from the Project Management Institute Southern Caribbean Chapter (PMI SCC) in the category “Most Creative Application of Project Management Tools and Techniques,” for the publication and production process for the 2013 TW Wed-Zine Magazine. In March 2018, Simone won the “Business Pioneer” Award at AFETT’s Women Of Influence Awards event. In November 2019, Simone was the winner of The TTCSI’s “Lawrence Placide Services Go Global Award.” In June 2024, Simone was the winner of Luxe Life’s magazine (UK), “Wedding Expert of The Year 2024” (Trinidad and Tobago).

Beyond publishing, she has contributed to industry education as part of the Event Management Faculty, at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, training hundreds of students in Trinidad, Tobago, and Guyana, over a seven year period. She has been a wedding industry speaker at The Jamaica Bridal Expo, September 2016, Love & Sunshine Destination Wedding Conference in Guyana April 2017, at the Association of Bridal Consultants Conference in Upstate New York, in April 2017 and at a Bride’s Expo (Destination Weddings) in Fort Lauderdale, June 2018.
