“We have been together for 6 years and first met in the gym. As a couple, we enjoy keeping fit, drinking good wine and being close to the ocean.

We knew the enchanting sea had to be part of our wedding in some way and chose the theme of ocean sunset after being inspired from a trip to Tobago.  We got engaged on the Pigeon Point jetty and then fell in love with the view of the shimmering ocean and sunset at “Merci Buccoo” located in Buccoo, Tobago.

In order to include our family as much as possible, we agreed to have the ceremony in Trinidad and then hop on a flight to Tobago for the reception. The ceremony took place at Fatima R.C Church, where I was baptized and confirmed. We were married on Thursday 19th January, 2023 and the reception was at Merci Buccoo on Saturday 21st January, 2023. The bridal party enjoyed a beautiful boat ride on Friday 20th January 2023 with Addiction Adventures, to No Man’s Land and Buccoo Reef.

The colours of the sunset inspired the colour of the bridesmaids’ dresses – which were “watermelon” and “tahiti” respectively; and the groomsmen wore blue hues, to complete our ocean sunset.

My gown was sourced at Judy’s Formal and Bridal and my groom and groomsmen bought their suits at Solomon’s. In Trinidad, make-up was by Katrina M. Laydoo and hair by Kim Eds. My amazing photographer in Trinidad was Anthony Maugee.

In Tobago, my hairstylist was an angel, Anya Da Silva Shaw and Makeup by Glam by Abbey treated me with make-up gifts. Merci Buccoo offers six beautiful rooms, including a honeymoon suite, all with breathtaking views and warm staff who bring breakfast to your room every morning. We opted for the wedding package and Design Experience by Arlene Greig took care of the wedding details.

We had the perfect wedding ceremony and reception, with blessings of excellent weather and a magnificent lavender Tobago sunset.

P.S. We reached on time to the church!”  – Nicola
