Nikita & Akash

“Akash and I met six years ago, I remember secretly branding him as ‘the cute guy at the gym,’ whom I’d see everyday as I go to work out, with my messy hair and clad in my terribly mis-matched attire. I had never spoken a word to him. One day, we crossed paths close enough at the gym’s front desk. He very shyly said “hello.” I was so nervous I pretended to read a magazine, just to seem cool!

I realized that he was just as shy as I was and we started chatting and a friendship blossomed.

A year later, he took me to dinner and asked me to be his girlfriend.

We got engaged in Tobago on the shoreline of Pigeon Point. It was beautiful and memorable. A year later, we said ‘I do’ in a intimate ceremony at the very Church my late grandmother got married at, in front of God and the people who love us.

For the reception, clean white linens with a touch of silver here and there, under soft lighting was perfect for us. Akash’s mother, Drupatee, serenaded us and as Mother’s Day was the next day, she sang a special song for all mothers present.

Good food, great music and lots of dancing was the recipe for the rest of the night. ” – Nikita
