Andrea & Nicholas

December 19, 2021

“Nicholas and I met in high school. He was one form higher than me. One day while sitting in the library (being the nerd, I was!), he came up and asked me for my number. I remember feeling shocked and anxious as I was a teenager but that was the beginning of our love story.

Thirteen years later, we were still in love – building our dream house, co-parenting our fur baby Toby, and trying to decide what type of wedding we should have. The journey was not easy. We rented, dealt with life’s many challenges and at one point, we even drifted apart. But the times we spent apart showed us both that life wasn’t the same without each other. Loving someone for thirteen years is a major milestone and we wouldn’t change one bit of our story.

Our wedding planning began two months before our actual wedding date. We both decided to have a small Hindu wedding, since we were also building our home. Despite Covid regulation challenges and a house not fully ready, we still kept the faith that things would work out. On December 16, 2021 – only four days before the wedding, we got electricity! We were having anxiety attacks trying to juggle all the things being thrown at us. Having to move into our new house, working our regular (9 – 5) jobs and finalize wedding details was a lot to deal with!

I bought my outfit five days before the wedding from DS STYLES, Nicholas got his the day before. Thank God our friends and family co-operated with every aspect of what was required. Every immediate family member worked tirelessly to make everything happen. My cake was made by my an aunt who has an awesome cake business @CakesbyNatalie, Nicholas’ cousin Naresh who is an event decorator, did our decor, a creative uncle Vijay,  made our malas and my bouquet and my Makeup Artist was @nefycosmetics.

And guess what?

The wedding turned out beautiful. It was small and intimate, allowing us to remember each and every detail. Now, we have forever to continue our love story, as husband and wife. The greatest love stories show the most struggle but the memories and journey are what’s worth it.” – Andrea
